Fantastic corner positioned 2 bedroom duplex apartment – ground and first floor – directly on the first lagoon beach in El Cotillo. The property is west facing looking over the beach and ocean, so perfect for watching those fabulous El Cotillo sunsets. The ground floor of the apartment has a large open plan living area with a fully equipped kitchen and a breakfast bar, an allocated dining space and a large lounge area with two comfortable sofas. There is also a convenient shower / toilet room on the ground floor. The lounge has full length sliding windows that open to the patio terrace which is furnished with a dining table set for 5 people, and 2 sun loungers. From the patio you have direct access to the large shared pool and the smaller children´s pool, all of which are surrounded by the communal gardens and sunbathing area with sun loungers. On the first floor there is the primary bedroom with its own en suite bathroom, a twin bedroom and a separate, very spacious family bathroom. All of the rooms on the first floor have fabulous sea views – including both bathrooms!


Construction works close to Marfolin apartments

They say that the only constant in life is that change happens, and that is as true in El Cotillo as anywhere in the world. As El Cotillo develops and modernises it’s of course natural that new buildings pop up, and this sometimes means periods of construction work that may impact on the normally peaceful and serene setting.


We may not be able to stop change from happening, but we always look out for our customers and their hard-earned holiday money, and will consistently go the extra mile to make your stay as perfect as we possibly can! We take care to ensure that you’re fully informed before you book your next getaway, and where the effects may be felt most, we’ve worked hard to negotiate discounted rates with property owners that take account of, and we hope mitigate, any issues around noise and other construction-related disruptions.


At present, in order to develop a new Aparthotel in the area adjacent to the South-facing side of the Marfolin complex, construction work has commenced (from Monday to Friday, between the hours of 7.30/8am and 6pm), and is likely to continue for some time. As is often the case in the Canaries, information about the overall plan and timings of construction phases is in limited supply, so we cannot be sure if building will be ongoing during your holiday, or to which stage it might have progressed.


For these reasons, we have undertaken extensive negotiations with property owners to secure discounts that reflect the potential disruption to your daytime holiday activities, depending on the relative proximity of each apartment to the continuing works. Of course, we understand that such works might discourage some. But for others, the prospect of a discounted price will mean that some limited disruption will be almost no issue at all, happening at a time when you’d normally be enjoying the beaches, setting out on an adventure to explore the island, shopping, pampering yourself, or even patrolling the coast-line looking for the best waves or snorkelling spots.


Simply Cotillo Customers booking @ Marfolin at reduced rates guaranteed until end of May 2022, (but subject to regular review as construction progresses), now fully aware of ongoing construction works, acknowledge the change in conditions whilst work is taking place, and as such will not be eligible to rearrange dates or to seek a refund if they are dissatisfied upon arrival or during their stay.


Marfolin 1 is the least affected of all the apartments available, situated on the ground and first floor and with most rooms facing away from the construction work toward the North. Some noise is of course to be expected, but the affect is minimised by the apartment’s orientation and layout, therefore no discounted rates are applied to this apartment.

The primary bedroom has two set of windows facing west and north, providing stunning views of the beach and the ocean. The twin bedroom also has its windows facing west and has great views across the pool area and the ocean beyond.
Bathrooms: This property is unusual in this complex, in that it has 3 bathrooms, all of which are fully tiled, walk in shower cubicles with sliding glass doors. They even all have sea views! One on the ground floor, and upstairs the primary en suite and a large family bathroom.
Lounge area: The spacious ground floor open plan living area has 2 large comfortable sofas, coffee table and flat screen TV. There is a small selection of books, including some children’s books.
Outside space: The property has a large ground floor patio terrace looking over the lagoon beaches with dining table and chairs. The terrace leads directly on to the pool and sunbathing areas and well maintained gardens. There is a lockable gate on the patio to provide added security for small children. The pool has a glass fence surrounding it.
